The Sacramento Blue Star Moms  is the local chaper of the Blue Star Mothers of America, a Congressionally chartered  Veteran's Service Organization. We serve Sacramento, Placer, and El Dorado Counties. We are Moms, Family & Friends united in support of our men and women in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. We gather with other parents, family and friends to support our troops. This is a great opportunity to meet, unite and support each other during each phase our our loved ones military career.

We are a busy group--we just put on our First Annual Fall Harvest Festival in October.  Thank you to all who sponsored or contributed to the event: Mike Branson--Music for your Occasion, The Soul Shakers, The Ambassadors (Barbershop Quartet), Scottish American Military Society  aka  SAMS (Bagpipers),  New York Life (Victoria Mc Cracken and Eric Grubbs), Con-Way Freight, Bingo Bugle, Quest Technology,M & S Barbeque, Ma's Kettle Corn, The Army Recruiters, The National Guard, The Roseville American Legion Post #169. The Second Annual Blue Star Moms Festival is in the planning stages--check back for more details. Save the date:  Saturday October 9, 2010.

We sent out 2,000 care packages to the troops in 2009 (1,100 of those were sent for the holidays).   We will be packing care packages to send to the troops  on April 17, 2010 at the Roseville Veteran's Hall from 6AM to Noon.  Hope you can join us.  If you would like to make a donation, please see the list of drop off boxes throughout the community.  They are listed on this site.   Please let these businesses know that you appreciate their support of our troops.

During our November packing party, CNN paid us a visit.  It is posted on our News/Links page.  The soldier featured in the segment, Mike Scofield  is a local soldier who received packages from us.

Please email us at support@sacramentoBlueStarMoms.org to add your deployed loved one's name to our care package list.  The care packages will go out on April  17th and arrive about a  week later.

The Second Annual Armed Forces Day--Salute to the Troops--BBQ, Casino Night, and Poker Tournament will be held on May 15, 2010 at the Roseville Veteran's Hall, 110 Park Drive, Roseville.  Mark your calendars now and plan to attend this fun event.  It will be even more fun than last year.  Mike Branson (fomerly of the Drifters has agreed to entertain us again), there will be even more raffle and silent auction prizes, M&M BBQ will cook for us once again, and this year the Hooters girls will be there.  Plan to be there and tell your friends!  You can purchase tickets online or by mail or ask any Sacramento Blue Star Mom!   Sponsorships are available and raffle and silent auction prizes are needed.

We will be at the Red, White, and Brew Fest at the Sacrmento County Fair at Cal Expo on Saturday May 29th.  Tickets will be on sale soon.  Contact us for more inforamtion--stay tuned.

We have a group that makes neckbands to keep the troops cool in the hot desert, and a group that makes memory books for the families of the fallen.  We also work at Mather Hospital and knit, crochet, and make lap blankets for the patients.  We set up booths at various community and military events.  We do what we can to promote patriotism and support for the troops.  Please join us.

We meet the last Saturday of every month (With the exception of November, December, and May due to the holidays)
