WELCOME TO THE SACRAMENTO BLUE STAR
The Sacramento Blue Star Moms is a Veteran service organization. We are active in the South Placer County and Sacramento areas. We support all troops regardless of their home town. We are Moms volunteering (no paid positions) within the community to share our compassion and pride with you. We worry, cry, laugh and together to bring a "taste" of home to our troops who are in harms way.
We are proud Moms, Grandmothers, Spouses, Girlfriends, Daughters, Dads, Sons, Friends and Friends!
We send care packages to deployed primarily stationed in Afghanistan. We do not send packages to troops stationed in locations where they have access to stores and/or centers. The care packages are filled with snacks, candy, socks, books, beef jerky, powdered drink mixes, personal hygiene items, and each box includes a message written by those here at home. On April 28, 2012 over 300 care packages were mailed.
We collect all year long for care package mailings. We are also available to speak to community groups and events about our activities that support the military here at home as well as the deployed troops. The Blue Star Moms do not receive funding, we depend upon and fundraising events.
