Our History / Our Banner

Sacramento Blue Star Moms Chapter #7  was chartered by Blue Star Mothers of America on November 18, 2005.  We have grown by leaps and bounds over the last 4 years.  All families and friends of the military are invited to join us.  We strive to have something that appeals to everyone--we hope that you will join us.

History of Blue Star Mothers

About the Service Flag

  • Supporting the sisterhood of the Blue Star Mothers of America and each other, knowing how hard it is to send our children off to war.  Only another parent can truly understand, but we appreciate the support of the rest of you.

  • Sewing neck band coolers for our deployed troops to help keep them cooler in hot desert temperatures. Our Sew & Sew committee will be making lap blankets and helmet covers and other items requested by our hospitals and troops.
  • Adopting individual troops and units stationed overseas and active participants in the Military's new Yellow Ribbon Program.
  • Welcoming soldiers returning from overseas at Sacramento International Airport, with Patriots Guard Riders and other patriotic groups and individuals in attendance
  • Giving speeches at Service organizations, Schools, Military facilities and other organizations
  • Supporting the families of our fallen and presenting them with the Gold Star Banner and memory book of their loved one
  • Collecting and distributing toys for military children
  • Soliciting and collecting  letters and Cards to our troops

In the recognition of our group’s mission we thrive. For the sake of our defenders of freedom, our efforts and our commitment will not wave. We endeavor to remain a dynamic presence, a reminder to our citizens to reach out to their communities and to keep our troops in their thoughts and always in their hearts.
