WELCOME TO THE SACRAMENTO BLUE STAR MOMS
The Sacramento Blue Star Moms is a Veterans service organization. Our membership is active in the South Placer County and Sacramento areas. We support all troops regardless of their home town. We are Moms volunteering (no paid positions) within the community to share our compassion and pride with you. We worry, cry, laugh and work together to bring a "taste" of home to our troops who are in harms way.
We are proud Moms! We gave birth to 'heros'
We send care packages to deployed military primarily stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. We do not send packages to troops stationed in locations where they have free access grocery stores and/or shopping centers. The care packages are filled with snacks, candy, socks, books, beef jerky, powdered drink mixes, personal hygiene items, and each box includes a message written by those here at home. On April 30th; 335 care packages were mailed.
We collect donations all year long for our care package mailings. We are also available to speak to community groups and school events about our programs to support the military here at home as well as the deployed troops. The Blue Star Moms do not receive funding, we depend upon donations and fundraising events.
