OVER 1300 CARE PACKAGES WERE SENT TO AFGHANISTAN
On April 28, 2012 over 300 care packages were mailed. During Memorial Day weekend, 130 care packages were sent. In August 158 care packages were mailed. A young collected care packages items; 27 boxes were sent in October. Girl Scout Troop 2173 and 1442 from Bayside Church sent another 15 care boxes on November 5, 2012. On November 29, 2012, Nor Cal~Go Girl employees collected food and supplies to mail 125 care packages. On December 1, 2012 another 625 care packages were mailed to our deployed service members. On December 10, 2012, 50 care packages were mailed from donations from the Elk Grove Food Service employees.

November 1, 2012 ~ Halloween Candy Buy Back for the Troops ~ Personalized Dental Care Offices are buying back Halloween candy at $1.00 per pound ~ locations: 1258 Coloma Road, Roseville ~ 4000 Foothills Blvd, Roseville ~ 685 Twelve Bridges, Lincoln. Hugs to Marcus Douglas (green sweatshirt) to rallied his friends to donate their Halloween candy.
September 28, 2012 - Run for the Fallen - Spaghetti Dinner hosted by Deborah Getz, Founder of Never Forget our Fallen www.NeverForgetOurFallen.com assisted with the CA Run for the Fallen. September 28-30, dedicated teams of runners; Active Duty and Retire Military ran 150 miles through California to finish on September 30th at the Sacramento Valley Veterans National Cemetery in Dixon. Each mile will be dedicated to the 711 fallen California service members. At each mile, an American Flag was placed and a personal biographical card honoring the fallen warrior.
September 23, 2012 - Sunday Fun Day at Rusch Park in Citrus Heights. Sacramento Blue Star Moms sold Hot Dogs, Chips and bottled water.
September 11, 2012 - BounceU (7611 Gailee Road, Roseville and 11280 Sanders Drive, Rancho Cordova) will be hosting a charity event in support of the Sacramento Blue Star Moms.

September 8, 2012 (11:00am-2:00pm)- Picnic in honor of Gold Star Families - William Land Park, Sacramento (near Fairytale Town on 16th - across from the Sacramento Zoo) September 30th is Gold Star Parents Day. Gold Star represents a service member's death while serving in the Armed Forces

September 1, 2012 - "Country In The Hills fundraiser" in support of the Wreath Project is at the Yin Ranch in Vacaville. Proceeds will fund the 2012 Wreath Project to honor our fallen at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in December. The Sacramento Blue Star Moms attended this wonderful project.

9:00 am - Saturday, May 26: Flag placement--volunteers welcome (bring a screwdriver if you can...it helps with the hard ground)
9:00 am to 10:00 am - Monday, May 28: Memorial Day program. Arrive early for parking and limited seating for 700 will be available.
6:00 pm - Tuesday, May 29: Flag removal--volunteers welcome
Monday, May 28th - 8:00 am to 10:00 am at Centerpoint Community Church, located at 515 Sunrise Blvd, Roseville (off Coloma)
Church members have been putting together care packages to mail to deployed service members. For those moms who have a child in Afghanistan, it would be appreciated if you can make it to the church at 8:00 am and bring your child's address.
Memorial Day Program at the Roseville's Cemetery on Berry Street.Ceremonies begin at 10:30 am to noon. This program is being presented by the American Legion and the VFW Post. A luncheon after the ceremony will be held at the Roseville Veterans Memorial Hall located at 110 Park Ave, Roseville at Royer Park. Memorial Day ceremony also taken place in Rocklin.

April 14, 2012 ~ Walk to Remember in honor of Bryan Hall ~ Elk Grove
On April 10, 2009 five American soldiers were killed in combat in Mosul, Iraq. SFC Bryan E. Hall, of Elk Grove, is one of those soldiers whose heroic actions saved the lives of his fellow soldiers and Iraq civilians. This walk honors SFC Hall and the other four soldiers killed in the confrontation and all American Soldiers, past and present, who serve our country. All proceeds from the walk will be split between the Bryan E. Hall Memorial Scholarship and an education fund established for SFC Hall's five-year old daughter, Addison.
February 16-17, 2012 ~ Gold Star Memorial hosted by the East Bay Blue Star Moms Chapter and the Marines' Memorial Association. Since 2005, a special reception and private tribute has been held at the Marines' Memorial Club & Hotel in San Francisco to honor our California Gold Star Parents who have lost a son or daughter while serving in America's Armed Forces.
